Why isn't my touchscreen working?

I was eligible for an upgrade through Verizon Wireless and I chose the Nokia Lumia 920. I barely had the phone for a week and the touchscreen won't work. I haven't dropped it, never had it neat water or intense heat. It just stopped working. I looked it up online and it said to do a soft reset, which I did and it worked the first time. The phone worked for about a day before it started acting up again, and I am starting to get upset. I tried to do a hard reset but I can't access the settings in order to do. If anybody knows of anything else that works, it would really be helpful. Thank you!!!

The 920 is not a Verizon Phone, and the phone is probably a dud. I'd suggest an exchange.
