Windows Central Question
why are built-in apps (Music, Video) missing after update to surface rt?
Several built-in apps have ceased to function on my surface rt.
Music and Video apps no longer functioning brought this to my attention, and are not the only 'missing' apps, however they were the ones I noticed and were working quite recently (24 hours).
There seems to be a predominance of 'built-in' apps - Windows Tips, Calculator, Games, Maps, Reader, etc. - amongst the 'missing'.
At present, they do not appear on the main screen app list; however, they do appear in the store app, but in a confusing fashion: they appear in "my apps" list under 'my account', but as 'uninstalled', and installation does not result in their reappearance/reactivation. They also appear under 'available updates', but an error results from any attempt to update them.
