If you have a SIM of the correct size... And it is from a service NOT the same as branded or NOT from an airtime reseller using the same towers. Try that.

If the phone is labeled AT&T (for example) and you put in a Straight Talk SIM that is AT&T style (for example) it will work even without an unlock. So that is not a valid test. If the SIM is T-Mo style and it works, the phone is unlocked.

Some phones come Factory Unlocked. They never have SIM restrictions.

You won't know until you try a SIM card. If it works then its unlocked. If it doesn't then its SIM locked.

I can't remember the number but if you type in the **xxxx# code used to get to the unlock screen it won't work if the phone is unlocked but it will prompt you for the unlock code if it's still locked.
