How can I recover contacts after hard reset?

I had to hard reset my Nokia 520 after getting locked out. It seems all of my contacts are gone, including the backup on the SD card. Photos and music are all there. Any suggestion on how I can recover contacts. Don't know if I had it setup for them to be backed up automatically.

Did you sign into outlook to check if they are also missing from there?

Contacts are synced from your Microsoft account, Facebook, Twitter etc. A hard reset won't delete them. Are you signed in with the right account, and is it synced properly?

I have to ask, who's your carrier? That makes a difference. For instance, with Verizon, every time you create a contact you have the option to either do it under Hotmail (Your Microsoft account) or under Verizon's Backup Assistant Plus.
