If done properly, then no. But I would suggest using an abundance of caution if you plan on upgrading your Windows 8.1 installation to Windows 10. The versions of Windows 10 that Microsoft is releasing is still early stage beta builds of the software. Major features are missing, and there may be some stability issues. I wouldn't recommend replacing your fully functioning Windows 8.1 system to a buggy, pre-release build of Windows 10.
