Why won't my Nokia Lumia 521 hold a charge or turn on?

My Nokia Lumia 521 won't hold a charge or turn on

I've had my 521 since the last of March. The other evening, with a battery charge of over 50%...it turned itself off. I waited a few minutes, tried to turn it on...nothing. Placed it on the charger. It shows that the phone SHOULD BE charging...but it's not taking the charger. During this time I am able to push the power button, receive the vibration and see the Nokia sign. After that nothing. My charger is good. I've tried holding the down volume button, along with the power button. Still nothing. Does anyone have any idea what could be the problem? This doesn't seem isolated problem because I've few identical problems...but no where an answer to it. Any help out there please.

Try to remove battery and put it again into phone. Use different charger . If this will not work, use nokia software recovery tool because maybe it's a software problem.

Remove the back cover and make a thin pad out of paper (maybe 3 thicknesses to start). Tape that inside the cover so it presses down on the battery and replace the cover.

The battery isn't contacting the pins correctly. This is a known problem with some 520/521 production runs.

Thank you. It seems that you are correct. I took off the cover, place the paper in between...and now it's charging...and it has even turned itself on. Thank you so much!!!!
