Is it possible to remove the Verizon start-up screen from my Lumia 928?

I've heard it can be done via a "Custom" Rom flashed on to the phone using the NSU however I can only find the Verizon version.

I wouldn't mess with it; changing the ROM can cause unforeseen problems. It's not worth solving the annoyance.

It was possible to load different ROMs onto the 920 to give it no branding, ROGERS branding, etc. since there were several variants of the 920 for different regions and carriers.

Not so with the 928, sorry.
You can't remove it as it stands right now.

For some models that have different variants, it is possible. However the Lumia 928 is a "special" model in that Verizon custom ordered it. Plus, I'm pretty sure it would have to stay "locked" to Verizon since Verizon is CDMA.
