My Lumia 925 froze and now I can only start it by plugging into mains, the start button does not work. How do i fix his issue?

My Lumia 925 froze and now I can only start it by plugging into mains..start button does not work

This morning I opened my phone to find it frozen with a time from last night. I tried restarting the phone, it initially opened but I couldn't open half of my apps, the date wont hold & keeps reverting back to last night.
I did a reboot twice but still the same, the on/off button will not close screen, it just sits on tiles page until it freezes again.
Does this sound like a software or hardware problem?? This phone holds all my business info so is important to me...Will it need a factory reset or does it sound like a more serious problem.

Other threads I've seen suggest this may be due to the latest Glance update? Check the general Windows Phone 8.1 forum for more threads on the topic...

Did you do a hard reset? That should fix it.
