How do I fix my Lumia 930 Power/Lock button?

Lumia 930 Power/Lock button broken

My power/lock button will not function at all unless I connect it to the charger. My screen also locks by itself even if I tap on it repeatedly. I don't know if this is related but when I correct the time and date on my phone it seems to be synonymous with my lock/power button not working so I can't set the proper time.

Did you install thechives or 5 minutes workout. Than you have the same problem as many others.

Only a hard reset helps.

I honestly think the part about the power button not working is a hardware fault, not a software fault. Try feeling if the power button feels "normal," upon pressing.

For the screen locking by itself part, I also think it's related to the power button part.

If you, well, get the time wrong, it appears to fix the problem. Hmm. Try a soft reset first, and disable all of the extra features the screen has under settings>display.

Hi. Had the same problem yesterday and fix it:

1 - backup your phone data in settings/backup
2 - transfer photos, videos, music and general documents to onedrive
3 - perform a hard reset in settings/reset phone
4 - the phone will restart and ask you if you want to restore your backup - say yes ...
5 - the system will automatically download and install your applications

And thats it. Mine is working perfectly and I didn't lose any data.

Applications are issue. Just fixed same problem uninstalling Real Speed Car: Need for Asphalt.
This app requires several background actions. Disabling did not fixed problem with power button, uninstalling did.
Search for apps that use backround services and does not have any reasonable purpose to use it.

Reset phone worked!
Don't forget to backup with WiFi, before reset.
and make sure enough charge left!
