How to fic the HTC 8X Random restarting on Verizon Wireless?

Once in a while the phone restarts whether I am using it or not. Also it has issues with the SIM card not responding, meaning it won't send text messages when I reply or try to send a text. Is there a way to fix this? Software, Firmware? Also this is the second SIM card I have used so I am thinking it is the phone and not the SIM card's fault.

A faulty power button and a faulty SIM tray, perhaps.
