Nokia 521 - What happens if I uninstall Cortana?

Since the 8.1 update, phone resets to home screen about 70% of the time when I open Cortana. Anyone know what happens if I uninstall it? Will the magnifying glass button bring up the old Bing that it did before (where I could scan QR codes without an app?)

I have a 521 too and most of my problems were solved by a hard reset.
You can still scan QR codes without an app. Go to your camera app, lenses, and select the Bing Vision lens.
If you really want to disable Cortana though, yes, you will get the old Bing app.
