That's not true. ALL Windows Phone hard reset in EXACTLY the same way!

Even with physical button presses which are needed if a phone is unresponsive or the user is locked out???

FWIW: the OP never stated what OS their phone runs on either... If James Falconer put in $0.10 for each Android and iOS user that posted in WC Ask a Question, the Mods here could have quite a holiday paaartaaay!!!

Anyhow if it is SIM locked just get the SIM card out. You need the PUK code to use the SIM again. Or not?

PUK code can be had from the Carrier - or the original packaging if you saved that... And would save Hard Resetting which wipes data.

SIM locked could mean carrier branded as well. Some of these questions are very vague. Every bit of input helps then.
