Why do certain apps have no internet access on WP8.1?

Certain apps have no internet access on WP8.1

Lumia 720 running the latest dev preview. Some randomly picked apps cannot access the internet (e.g. MyTube, MetroTube, ScrobbleMe, etc...). The problem arose a couple of months ago. I hoped future OS or app updates would resolve it but they didn't. I consider myself a power user, and tried reinstalling the problematic apps, soft resetting, pretty much everything I could think of save for a hard reset, but the problem still persists. Has anyone had the same problem? Is there any way to solve this issue other than a hard reset? For one, I have about 300 plays in ScrobbleMe waiting to be scrobbled, that I'd prefer to not lose.

Very odd that it is 'some' apps. Check you doing have an invalid web proxy configured on the Wi-Fi connection.

That's weird. I have a Lumia 720 running PFD as well, but I don't and never have any problems with the internet connection on any of those apps you mentioned above (both on wifi and cellular). I think you should try to hard reset your phone - I can't think of any other solutions other than that.
