Why has my Lumia 720 power button suddenly gotten oversensitive?

Lumia 720 power button got oversensitive suddenly

It's been 18 months since I am using Nokia Lumia 720 WP. Never faced any major issue, but from last evening ,
Power button all of a sudden started being too sensitive that even a slight touch of anything shows lock screen and asks for phone switch off "swipe down to off" message.
I tried soft restart for many times but still that problem hasn't been resolved. So I am not sure what's happening. Please help me fix it!

Show it to the nearest care point to get the hardware checked out. problems like these that resets don't fix generally turns out to be an hardware issue.
