Why won't my email app open after upgrading to 8.1?

Email app won't open after upgrading to 8.1

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 from 8.0 on my Nokia 822 the email app will not open. It will go to a black screen for a second then back to the home screen. The tile does recognize when I have new emails... Thoughts on how to make the tile open.

Maybe try to remove the account and then add it again?

First I would start with soft reset, power off phone then back on, check all your email accounts and be sure they are signed in to, than I would remove the tile and reinstall it. Try this see what happens.
