My 920 thinks headphones are always plugged in

Tried cleaning the jack out, messing with a plug, hard resets, soft resets, factory resets, taking it to the MSFT store...is this now a lost cause? Seems like a crappy reason to need to find a new phone.

I know you've said you've tried cleaning the jack, but if you have an old toothbrush you no longer need, a really good scrubbing of the jack fixed the issue for me. Is there any chance it could be water damaged?

Plug something in and out a lot?
Might need replacement (the jack I mean, not the phone) which can be done I believe.

OP here, thanks so much for the toothbrush note...

Thought it wouldn't work, but I tried and look at that. Instead of the price of a new phone, I just need a new toothbrush.

Got a new member out of that.

Great to hear, that trick saved my 920 so I'm glad it helped you too :)
