Can't use SophieLens HD to edit photos. Should I "clear originals"?

I was trying to edit a pic with SophieLens HD on my phone, but couldn't open the app. This is what I did:
1) Went to camera roll
2) Selected the photo I want to edit
3) Chose "edit" (the pencil icon)
4) Clicked on SophieLens HD. At this point, nothing happens. The app won't open.

I was able to open SophieLens from the icon on my home screen, and was able to take a pic - so, I know the app itself is working. While exploring the app's settings, I saw an option to "clear originals." Would it fix the editing problem if I cleared originals? And would I lose any pics if I did so?

I could be wrong, but SophieLens is not an image editing app. You're meant to take photos within the app and not edit it later.

I'm having the same problem, both with sophie lens and fhotoroom. I've tried uninstalling both, cleaning the temp files and reinstalling but the problem remains.

Anyone else found a solution for this?
