There has to be a cannon app for it to work. If not then you have to plug phone in laptop and go from there

By default, Windows Phone does not have support for OTG (USB devices plugged into the phone) or printing. (even over Wi-Fi)

That Canon printer supports Google Cloud Print. There is a Windows Phone app called Print2Cloud.
