Why does my phone's screen go black?

I recently got a Huawei Ascend W1, and I've already started having problems. Sometimes when I turn it off, it won't come back on. The screen stays black even though I press the on button, and the lights for the buttons on the bottom of the screens come on as well. It's not because it's dead, because this has happened while at full charge and while the red light showing it's charging is on. I am able to fix it by taking the battery out, but I was wondering if there's any other way I can fix it without having to take the battery out? Thank you!

I would RESET your phone if I were you. Have you performed several soft resets too?
