A SMS text is saying that? I understand it is up to the carrier how they handle long messages, whether they break them up into multiple SMS or if they send the long text as a MMS. As far as I am aware, it should take care of it automatically. Do you mind sharing a screenshot? What device and what carrier are you on? What device (if you know) does the intended recipient have?
