Can you explain me what happened to my phone?

My nokia lumi 625 fell on the ground and its touch screen was cracked. I called my mum to notify her and then I was texting my friend. While texting my phone broke down. Now it shows my screen saver all the time and it vibes when I receive new text messages. It doesn't take any commands, nor the lock/unlock button, nor the start button, search or even back button. Any one can tell me what happened?? Thanks

Well didn't you answer your own question? Your touch screen was cracked which might have damaged more than just the screen. Send it for repair, that's your only option

But I used my phone for about 15 minutes after the touch screen cracked, and then it broke down. I find this weird that's why I'm asking

Probable when you dropped the phone the touch panel crack. But it the panel was still "one" piece. But when you used the phone you also tapped on the touchscreen. And due to this the "crack" prolongated causing the "breaking down" of your phone.
