When I try to logon to Amazon through the Kindle app, it prompts for an Amazon.com account, why?

When I try to logon to Amazon through the Kindle app, it prompts for an Amazon.com account

I have an amazon.co.uk account and when I logon at the front screen on the Kindle app, it doesn't recognise it as a valid account.

Just checked and mine logs in using my regular Amazon account info. I would suggest a soft reset and try again.

Check settings inside the App for Region?
