Do I need to factory reset my phone?

Phone dropped and now blocked

Hi - wee boy threw lumia 520 down the stairs and the battery fell out. When switched on again it came up with random date and time (April then June) and says to try in 782304 mins. Have tried the restart with pressing power switch and vol down for 15secs but same thing appears. What next? Or is it a factory reset? TIA

It's usually a factory reset with that but I am happy to be proven wrong. That usually shows up when a screen replacement happens.
