My phone won't sync on my mac after an update to Yosemite.Why?

I am a Nokia Lumia 610 user currently V7.8 since over 2 years now. Also, I have a macbook air. I used "Windows Phone app" for mac which was working quite well. But, after updating my OS to Yosemite, The app has stopped working. It would show some response just after connecting the mobile , but crashes saying "Connect your Windows Phone to continue". I have checked with 4-5 cables to confirm that its not to do with a cable. So is it a Yosemite problem or a Windows problem? Is there an Updated app ? Is there a solution ?
