Windows Central Question

Play PC music files via my lumia 820 to a bluetooth speaker

I have a Lumia 820, a home PC on a wireless network and a Bluetooth speaker in my dining room. I have about 2 TB of music. Far too much for my phone to store.

Can I stream the music (MP3) throught the wireless network to my phone then forward it to the bluetooth speaker without downloading the whole file onto my phone? Also control a PC music player via the phone. I normally use Koni (XBMC) or Foobar to play the music on my PC.

Re: Play PC music files via my lumia 820 to a bluetooth speaker

There are several apps available that allow for remote controlling of all kinds of PC music players. As for streaming music to your phone, there are also several options. I went with a miniDLNA server on my Linux machine (where I store all my media). For Windows you might want to check out Plex, which is imho great for these purposes. Bluetooth isn't much of any concern, as whatever app you're using automatically "forwards" its audio output to any actively connected Bluetooth speaker.

Thanks very much dKp,
Works exactly as I wanted.
I can now play my music anywhere . Even on the decking, and it all sounds good via the bluetooth speaker.
