When I make a cinemagraph and choose to export it as a GIF, it is not animated. Has anyone else experienced this issue?

Why then would it have the option to export it as a gif? Even if it couldn't display it, it should still save it as a gif. I sent the file to my friend and it didn't animate. It doesn't seem to even save it as a gif, regardless of whether or not it can play it. Or if it is in gif format, it's not saving the animation. Sharing it to facebook for example is just an mp4.

Useless feature. The first time I've been disappointed with WP. Up until now I've been over the moon with this phone. It's not a big deal, just seems silly.

Because the point of a Cinemagraph is to share it online, and the web does support GIF. If you just wanted to look at it on the phone, open Cinemagraph and watch it.

He's got a point there though. What if he's showing his creation around and others want it too? It should either save as GIF including the animation or at least as MP4.

Reprinted from elsewhere:

...Cinamagraph should make 3 files each picture; .jpg, .mp4.tmh, .nar

Find the date and time of the pic you want... Copy the .mp4.thm to your computer > right click the file > edit the file name by removing the .thm so it ends in .mp4 > click OK > click yes to teh changed file extension warning.

You now have an mp4 that plays in your favorite video player. If you want a single frame, pause the video and use a screen capture tool.

You have to do a file extension edit on your PC in order to get an exportable/shareable file type with animation. Still not a true GIF though.

Try Video 2 Gif: http://www.windowsphone.com/en-in/store/app/video-2-gif/6e9daaf5-0aec-4262-b6d9-67d858add258 for true .gif files from your device.
