My little sister has been pestering me to upload a photo to her facebook account but unfortunately I can't find a way to upload the photo, both the browser and facebook app can't upload the photo, sometimes they work and the other time refuse to work, since uploading of photos via the photos hub was removed, uploading photos to facebook is a real pain!

You have to wait in the app until picture is fully uploaded (when the dots stop scrolling across top of the screen) if you go out of the app then its counts as being cancelled on your end

Uploading from photos hub was not removed. Go into photos..open the photo you want and share to FB using the share charm.

Yes it was removed.

Now it just loads up the app to upload the photo as apposed to before where the app wasn't needed.

So he is correct in what he said.

No he isn't correct in that the functionality is all there as it was before but it uploads in a slightly different way. The same goes for all the misinformation that the people hub doesn't exist anymore and the me tile is useless...it's all still there but use apps to do the heavy lifting so that they can be updated by the creator of the app. The only hub that truly went away was the messaging hub..and even that may partly return in W10. People just need to adjust to change...move on.

No the functionality is different.
Before you didn't need the app installed, now you do.
So without the app you can't upload to Facebook direct from the photo hub. Hence it was 'removed'

Don't think I can explain it to you and the difference any more simpler.

Wait......

No app, No upload.

What do you know, I could.

I get the difference fundamentally..my point is the functionality is STILL there to post directly from the photo hub...whether you need an underlying app to achieve that who gives a damn....it takes no longer or requires opening up a separate app. In order to bring the OS forward some concessions had to be made for the WAY things are done under the hood...in the long run this is a good thing...in the short run we just need to not make a bigger deal of things than is needed...I think this is one of those things. We are splitting hairs so I guess we can agree to disagree if you feel the functionality has been "removed"

Marc43, sorry if you misunderstood my point, I didn't mean that its no longer possible to upload via the photo hub, I was talking about the old way of uploading the photos in wp8.0, using the facebook app isn't good at all, it doesn't show any progress bar you just have to guess according to your internet connection though in the old way we could easily upload photos with a progress bar to show you the upload status.

Yes but it does take longer, select share, choose facebook, app loads, then you have to select post.
Not massive difference but noticeably more presses than share, facebook and then done.

Also this all stems from me agreeing with the original post, never said it was a bad thing or I need the reason why explaining to me as I already know the reasons and they make perfect sense.

Friendly reminder folks.........
