Will Windows 10 for phones have all of the features of Denim?

I have the Cyan update on my WP 8.1. (Still waiting on Denim) If the Preview for Windows 10 is available in February for phones, will this negate the need for the Denim Update, or will you have to have Denim before the update? Thx.

Denim is firmware, it does not come with the Developer Preview. That is os only.
So in theory you shouldn't need denim first. However, possibly there are some features in the denim firmware that are needed for WP10 to run smoothly?
I don't know, and I doubt anyone other than the people making it would be able to tell you for 100%

Maybe the reason for the Feb release of TP Win 10 is to allow Denim to be released for the rest of the Verizon & AT&T phones. Makes as good sense as anything else we have been told.
