Why are my text messages disappearing?

phones playing up

dropped my phone and now when i recieve texts they appear for a few seconds and disapear ,also cant do updates to fix the problem cause the internet wont work properly..did something swich of when dropped?

Dropping a phone (or any similar digital device) usually won't switch anything off... rather it would break whatever was working which would make it seem that a certain function was switched off.

What exactly is happening when receiving SMS? What did you mean when you said that they "disappear"? Do they disappear from the notification center, or do they disappear also in the Messaging Hub?

Are you using WiFi for internet, or 3G/4G?

If you're receiving SMS, it doesn't sound like you've busted your GSM antenna (or the circuitry associated with it). However, you may have damaged the module for internet access.

At this point, you may either do a series of tests to evaluate the status of your phone... or you could simply go to a service center and have them diagnose the problem (without telling them what happened, of course, at first).
