I have had an iPhone for the past 5 years but decided to try something new and bought a Nokia Lumia 1020, mainly due to the camera and all it's features (Nokia Smart Cam etc.)

Whenever I try to download the Nokia Smart Cam app, I am told that the app is not available for my device yet and requires the amber update. After doing some reading around, I understand that Cyan (my current software) came after Amber? So now I'm just confused. Will I have to wait for the Denim update to become available for my device before I can get Smart Cam and other apps? If so, will this be a matter or weeks? Months? Years?

If I'm right, smart camera is now integrated in "Nokia camera" as "smart sequence"

Edit: It's "Lumia camera", not Nokia, it was rebranded not long ago.

Cyan and Denim are firmware names for Lumia devices... Separate from the OS version, but bundled with the OTA updates.

Lumia Firmware in order of issue is (from OS v 8.0) Amber > Black > Cyan > Denim (to OS v 8.1.1)

Nokia Camera is no more and won't be downloadable no matter the error message (that's probably like a place holder). Microsoft is contractually obligated to phase out the Nokia branding. Microsoft did purchase the Lumia brand name and are moving all Nokia branded Apps to the Lumia branding.

Search the store for Lumia Camera or Lumia Camera Classic - the store will only offer you one and it is the one for your model... It is the one you want, the one you can use and the one that is most correct and current. It is the successor to Nokia Smart Camera.
