why have my past calendar entries disappeared on my Nokia Lumia 520

I use the calendar app to organise my family events; but the "older" than a month appointments and events has disappeared. anyone please help???

If you're using Outlook.com, you need to go to Outlook.com switch to Calendar. Go to settings (cog in top right), then click Options, scroll down until you see the section that says "Select when to delete your completed tasks", set this to Never.

This is normally defaulted to a month. Sadly any event already past will be gone.
You can't set this via the phone (for Outlook.com accounts) only the website.
