Why I am unable to play "High Defination" videos (both 720p and 1080p)?

[Windows Central Question]

I have installed all necessary drivers for ex. video, audio, graphics etc.
But still video lags.
I have tried to play different videos (all HD), but neither 720p nor 1080p is playing smoothly.

I am using "Media Player Classic + K-Lite Codec Pack" and "VLC Media Player".
Any suggestions to resolve the issue for video playback. Thank you!

Can you give more details? because as it is I don't think I can tell if you're talking about a PC or a phone.

OK, so we have that down.

But what about specifications? OS? Is this 10 related? Was it capable before?
