Why i am unable to disable password for Nokia Lumia 520

My brother updated my Lumia 520 to the new version 8.1 (denim) in India.
I was thinking of gifting it to my Aunt but now the password won't disable from the lock screen after the latest update. She won't be able to use it with password everytime. Can you please help me disable the password for this device so that i can gift it.

Settings -> lockscreen -> PIN -> off

And if that is not possible you need to do a hard reset.
And doing a hard reset is anyhow a good idea because it will erase your personal data and your aunt can add here own account.

Thank you but i should mention that option is greyed out. It no longer allows me to turn off the password.

I would try the reset option Harrie linked above. Make a backup first. Then flash a clean install with Lumia Software Recovery Tool.

Also like Harrie advises, doesn't your aunt want her own Microsoft Account on there? Let her do so during the setup process after the clean install.

Thank you very much, this looks like a better idea. I would do that & get her set up with a microsoft account for her use.
