unlock phone with cracked screen

my lumia 635 has a cracked screen need to unlock to retrieve data

Re: unlock phone with cracked screen

I'm afraid your only option is to try from all kinds of positions on the screen and all kinds of angles. Otherwise you're out of luck. You could possibly try and mount it as a USB mass storage device under Linux. No idea if that's gonna work or not.

Re: unlock phone with cracked screen

If you used a password and you can not use the screen you are out of luck there is no way to bypass the password.
If you did not use a password than you can connect your phone to your computer to retrieve your data.

Also if you used OneDrive to backup your data you are good.

OneDrive doesn't backup everything. Music for example. Or he could have created additional folders and store whatever files in there. These aren't synchronized to OneDrive either.

I know but please read what I wrote.
"If you use OneDrive to backup your data" means what it means.

I sure did. But you know that this could've been easily misinterpreted. There's a whole lot of users around these forums, who aren't very tech savvy.

If that was your point I thank you for clarifying this and I try to be more clear in the future.

But than also one for you "try and mount it as a USB mass storage device under Linux" is also not easy to understand for the "not very tech savvy"

And one for both of us (maybe to obvious but you never know)
If the data is on a SD card get the SD card out and place it in the card reader from your computer.
