Is the latest Windows 10 release safe to use as a main PC OS?

Question about the lastest Windows 10 release.

Is this stable and safe enough to use as a main PC os?
Getting a bit tired of Windows 7 and I'd rather not torrent Windows 8 xD
Is MS still collecting the occasional random keystroke? >.<

It is still experimental, so they still have that logging in place.

It is mostly stable I guess, definitely are rough edges though. If you do mission critical things and don't have the time to fix it in case something goes wrong, it may not be ideal.
Make sure you have a tried and true backup solution as well in place in case something goes south.
I wouldn't use it as my main PC OS, but others live a bit more dangerously.

I installed 9926 as main OS. Didn't regret it, boot time is slower than w7 though. Sometimes the start menu won't open but that is my only problem

You could always give a Linux distro like Ubuntu a spin whether in a VM or dual-booted if you want to try something really different.

Another option would be to run Windows 10 Tech Preview in a VM.

Or dual boot. Or install it to a VHD and dual boot.

The VM of Win 10 I have on my mom's higher specced pc runs pretty poorly
I'm sure natively would run better
This pc is very low spec Core 2 Duo @2.33 ghz and 2 gigs of ram with only an 80 gig hdd
So dualboot is out of the question as I only have 9 gigs left useable.

9 gigs is not enough for 10 your ram and processor are okay, ican run 10
With a core 2 2 ghz
