Why isn't my Surface Pro 3 detecting the battery?

surface pro 3 not detecting battery

i turn my laptop on and says batery not detected but. needs pwer cord to start but not to continue

Try these steps:

1) After booting the system with the power adapter connected, Hold Down the power button until the unit powers itself off. (Do not swipe down.)



2) Disconnect the power adapter from the unit.



3) Press and hold the Power Button (wait for a depleted system battery icon full screen)



4) re-connect the power adapter to the unit.



5) Press and hold the volume up and Power button for 15 seconds. (the unit keyboard will light up then power down if you hold it the full 15 seconds.)



6) Press and hold the volume up and power button until the keyboard lights up (about 5 seconds)



7) If the system/bios menu appears, select exit and restart



8) Battery is present and charging.

I have the same problem. I tried this and it didn't work. Any other solutions.

sending back for replacement if warranty is applicable?
