Why is my Windows 8.1 repeating calendar messages?

Windows 8.1 Repeated Calendar Message

Hi I am not sure the term, "calendar message" is correct. However, my Nokia phone has a message on the screen where you swipe to get to the home page. On Ground Hog day it alerted or reminded me that it was that day. The bad thing is that it showed the same message every day since then. This morning I rebooted the phone and now the message is gone. I don't think the device should have to be rebooted for this message to be removed. Has anyone solved this issue? Thanks.

I see your point, but no. After receiving the Windows 8.1 update is when this starting to occur. We first had a birthday notification "all day today" for two weeks. The next message repeated was the Ground Hog Day message.

There's not something off like some of your Calendars/Settings/Regions are set to mm/dd/yyyy and others set to dd/mm/yyyy - the proper way of doing it

I get 2 times for birthdays. I think one is Facebook and other Microsoft
