how to change colour of incoming text messages?

the out going text messages are dark blue. which is fine. but the paler blue of the incoming texts are to light and not so easy to read. can this be altered?

I'm not sure there's a setting to change the incoming text color. If incoming is difficult to see try changing the phones theme color.

Text messaging follows the theme color you set. Incoming matches the theme and outgoing is a shade lighter. White text on pale blue can be hard to read.

Go to Settings > start + theme > select one shade darker of blue, or try another color altogether.

Agreed, the theme color is what sets this but it needs an option to have major & minor colors in the theme. I've always had a red or crimson theme color on WP8.1, but moving to WP10 when I have any type of red the secondary text message color becomes pink
