Lumia 900 Phone blacks out when I initiate a call or accept an incoming call?

There is plenty of charge on my phone - recipient of my outgoing call &/or person calling my device can hear me but everything goes completely dead @ my end until they hang up - then my phone comes back to life. I've tried taking out & reinserting the sim to no avail. No problems sending/receiving texts, & I have instant access to my emails.

You have a faulty proximity sensor.
