which stylus works with OneNote, that is not running on Surface Pro 3?

i'm planning to buy a windows tablet, but surface pro 3 is way too expensive than what i've planned to spend.
all the stylus makers provide their own note taking softwares/apps.

Ques. 1: do we have a stylus in the market which works perfectly with the OneNote and other apps, even if we're not using Surface Pro 3?

Ques. 2: Or will the N-trig stylus (made for surface pro 3) work with other tablets (e.g. Dell venue 8 pro or Lenovo Yoga2) as well?

thanks smarty pants.
but i don't understand, what does some stylus' integration with OneNote has to do with laptop brand's technical support?

The magic isn't just the stylus. It's also the specific digitizer that the stylus works with, that is built into the face of the tablet.

No they are not likely interchangeable. You should use the stylus(s) that are intended to work with the digitizer that is in the screen of the computer that you purchase.

The Wacom digitizer and stylus was in the SurfacePro2. Now Microsoft has put n-trig digitizers in the screens of the SurfacePro3 so use the n- trig pen with that digitizer.

It is a question of accuracy and precision. Some less precise digitizers do use a variety of other pens, even your fingers.

The price of the SurfacePro3 is coming down and is well worth the investment.

Best Wishes.

Certainly you would get the meaning of my post by Kevin's reply.so how would you know which digitiser is used for your tablet -contacting some one from the company which built your tablet.

Wacom digitizers in tablets are most common I believe.
There are various devices which use it from Samsungs Galaxy Tab Note's to the Surface Pro 2.
Unfortunately, they are not compatible with the Wacom drawing tablet pens like those you use on the Intuos.
(adding to complexity, active stylii are optional on some devices like the Dell Latitude 10 which does have Wacom stuff, Lenovo's ThinkPad Yoga, etc.)

Dell has its own proprietary active stylus getup with Synaptics tech. The Venue's and some others only work with Dell's pen.

i saw Dart Stylus by Precision Touch, that the company claims will work with all platforms (iOS, android, windows). will it work with any app on the windows based tablet yoga 2 as well as windows phone (OneNote in particular, for scribbling notes in handwriting)

if i have to add a part to the question, i'll like to ask which stylus can i use for note taking in handwriting on OneNote application on any 2-in-1 or a tablet (windows based will be preferred)

For the best handwriting experience in OneNote, try out and buy the best computer with the best (resolution and precision) digitizer screen that you can afford. It will come with the appropriate stylus.

If you want the best experience, let go of the idea, that you can buy a magic stylus that will work on all screens. It will only improve on finger painting on screens made for finger painting.
