my nokia 520 wont hard reset

so one day I got sent the update and had no choice ,I let the phone load and the two cogs come up .....I left it on charge with the cogs for 3 days ..................so I tried the manual hard reset ,but instead of going to the question mark it just looped back to the nokia start screen ......PLEASEE HELP ME

Since you are going for a hard reset... Use the lumia recovery tool
