Why can't I stream to my Xbox from my Surface?

i cant seem to stream to my xbox on from my surface

hi im using a surface pro 2 and I cannot seem to stream content such as music from an app to my xbox one, it doesn't show up in the play to options nor in add device in settings and allow play to streaming is enabled on my xbox, I am on the same network as it and smart glass on my phone connects fine to it etc can anyone help?

you have to enable play to streaming in your settingsreferences.

sorry, I didn't catch that in your first comment. from looking around on the interwebs, there's a posting about this in the msft support forums. The short of it is:
"it appears that the Xbox sometimes does not get recognized anymore in the Devices settings screen (the simplified Metro one). You can try removing it from there and add it back through a new search: it should work..."

I appreciate the help but I cannot get it to work still, even trying to connect go my pc or pc to xbox or pc to surface or anything but thanks again for all the help
