Windows Central Question

how to completely delete all internet history etc

How did delete search history from Lumia phones . I have the 925.
Every where I look for an answer I find out how to delete history.
Now that's not exactly what I'm looking to do.
What I mean is ... When I go to type say for example the letter 'T' into the browser. I get about 5 'suggestions' or recent searches I've done for Tumblr.

Its something stored somewhere I have to clear or disable because its not general suggestions from the web. This is stuff that I have personally typed in. I.e. Tumblr wedding dresses comes up. Say I don't want anything to pop up when I type the letter 'T'.
How the hell do I do this?!

Re: how to completely delete all internet history etc

1) Turn off syncing with your other devices.

2) Erase all web site favourites.

3) Delete all web sites pinned to the start screen.

4) Clear your IE browsing history.

I think that ought to do it, but to be absolutely sure you could factory reset the phone as well. Make sure you don't restore from a backup though. Please note that unless you have a fully encrypted phone it would be possible to open up the phone and to use data recovery techniques to view 'deleted' data on the flash chips. That may reveal some of your history, but is likely beyond your concerns.

If delete internet history does not give the result you want.

Go to settings
Go to keyboards
Tap advanced
And in dictionary "reset suggestions"

Here's how I do this on my 925...

Tap the search button on the phone to open Cortana.
Tap the settings hamburger under "BETA"

Voila!
All of your entered searches will disappear.
Common popular search suggestions from Cortana (Bing thru IE) will remain.
Those are built in.
