How do I get my Outlook Calendar and Contacts from my Laptop to my Surface Pro 3?

Laptop to Surface Pro 3

I have a laptop running Windows 7 and a Surface Pro 3 running Windows 8. I use Microsoft Office 365 on both devices (with 1 years subscription) . Why will my Microsoft Office Outlook Calendar and contacts not update from my laptop to my Surface Pro 3. e-mails from Outlook are no problem. Am I naive or what?

What e-mail account are you using between the two? If it is a Microsoft Account (live/Hotmail/outlook) then you may have multiple calendars and contact lists. You need to make sure you are adding calendar events or contacts onto the Microsoft Account's calendar or list.

If you go to calendar and see your events: look on the bottom-left and see if the calendar you are viewing says "this computer only" on it. If it does then that will explain why nothing is synchronizing between devices.
