why i can't set brightness in automatic mode after update in my Lumia 730

Due to an update I can't set the brightness in auto mode and also my phone's light doesn't close when an Call is going on and I have placed my phone near the ear???

Settings > Brightness. This has a toggle for setting auto mode off.

Sounds like your proximity sensor on the fritz.

I know that if the proximity sensor thinks its covered all the time, it'll monkey with the brightness, but that means it'll turn off the display immediately whenever a call starts and refuse to turn on again.
Hm.
