It's the opposite of "pinch". Put two fingers on the screen and drag them apart to zoom in.

Put 2 (closed) fingers on the screen and open your fingers. If that does not work your phones camera does not support zoom.
Only below Lumia's support zoom.

My wife and I both have Lumia 520 phones. On mine you can zoom in to take a picture while on hers you can't. She believes she used to be able to do this, any ideas on why she now can't and how we can get the ability back?

Is it on all camera Apps then?

Might need to reset her phone.

Interesting, if you use the live tile it won't zoom, but if you go over to "camera" in the list and select it, it will zoom.

Remove the pinned tile. Soft Reset and pin the App again.
