Is there a way to re-order the email box?

I have a couple email folders with a lot of messages (one over 1400) and would like to reorder these by date to make them easier to manage. Is there a way to do this? I can't find anything in the program settings.

Turn off conversation. The it list them in the date order received.

I turned that off but it didn't reorder anything. Is there anything else I need to do?

I'm sorry but im confused.. I was under the impression that the inbox arranged every mail in the order by which you receive them? So, if I received 10 mails yesterday and 2 today; the 2 form today would be above the 10 from yesterday.

So it is arranged in order of the date or better, from new to old. Is it different on your phone?

You're not confused, that's how the email box is currently arranged. I'm trying to get one specific folder to arrange from old-to-new. The folder is large, as I haven't had time to read it constantly over the last couple years, and more-or-less sequential. I need to see older posts first to make sense of newer ones. As far as I can tell, this is impossible with the WP8.1 mailbox (as well as at least one other client I downloads, Maestro) I'm just hopeful theres just a setting that I've overlooked that would allow me to do this.

Ok that helps me to understand it better Thanks... Now here's what I found (This requires a laptop or pc; and im hoping that the changes will change the way the default app on the phone works as well):

go to outlook web app (just search for it or open it via onedrive), open the settings icon (gear icon), look for "rules for sorting new messages" -- under "customizing", click on "new" for a new rule and create your rule

In your case I would go for "when email matches -- older than 3 days" and "mark as important" or "flag"
