Why does my phone shut down by itself and I can't turn it back on?

My Phone has shut down by itself and I can't turn it back on.

I do not know what to do to get it to turn on.

Let the phone charge over night and then try again.. If that doesn't work then proceed with the soft reset and hard reset button combo's and ultimately the Lumia Recovery Tool
