Why doesn't the Windows Phone 8.1 calendar app show appointments more than six months out?

If I make an appointment more than six months out (ex., doctor appointment) the reference on the calendar app immediately disappears. But it will get logged in my Google calendar immediately where it will stay, and eventually show up on my phone. But it is annoying that I can't see those appointments on my phone as I am trying to schedule things as far out as September. It wasn't like this before the last major phone 8.1 update. Will this bug get resolved?

Go into the settings and setup the sync range (month and years).
