Why apps are leaving this windows phone platform?

Many apps are dissapering from Windowsphone stores and new apps without coming in the platform get away. What is happening with Windows phone platform? And the time is coming for the launch of Windows 10, then how could this platform will rise

Maybe ask Microsoft why they didn't put any effort into the OS for years which led to low adoption and subsequently low developer interest?
